Adding to 10 using a tens frame! . . My 4 year old has been showing a lot of interest in basic addition (not going to lie, this is mostly thanks to the Number Blocks show on ABC Kids 😅) so I made a little game for him with some cardboard dominoes and a tens frame to practise counting and adding up to 10. . . Resources like these are really easy to prep. Or if you already have a set of dominoes your pretty much ready to go, just grab a sheet of paper and a pen and any loose parts or small toys your child is interested in. I’ve found using pretty coloured things has been very enticing for my kids! Some bonus colour identification, sorting and fine motor work too. . . Our pouch lid supply has dwindled significantly and while we have no need for them I’m tempted to buy some on the next grocery shop just to get my hands on some more pretty colours 😂 I guess that would defeat the purpose of recycling though 🤔. #wearecardboardfolk #recycleandplay @recycleandplay

Rock vs Shell! For #manywaystoplay_bottles I made a set of cardboard scales ⚖️ We pitted our natural loose parts against each other to see which was heavier. Culminating in Frank seeing how many items it took to make the buckets swing violently in the opposite direction 🤷🏻‍♀️ ⚖️ The scales are made from cardboard with a strong tube for the pivot point. There was a bit of engineering involved in this one to weight it evenly and I found we needed a ‘Brake’ to stop the arms from over rotating. Maybe i have some craft mojo back…Should I get back on the cardboard wagon? @manywaystoplay @racing_to_play @everydayplayhacks #everydayplayhacks @recycleandplay #recycleandplay

Catch of the day! Between coughing fits and melt downs and epic cabin fever I made a little fishing game for the boys. We’ve all been miserable and sick the last week and the middlest Ho is on the mend meaning he wants to play and interact when the rest of us do not 😬. 🎣 The little fishing rod is made from @whogivesacraptp toilet roll and an Alfoil inner roll for strength. A cardboard reel and some string for the line. 🎣 Swipe for a video of Frank turning the reel. He is giving Lachie serious side eye because Lachie is heckling him. I’ll post videos in my stories, he’s so mean for someone so small😬🙈. #todayourchildren #everydayplayhacks @everydayplayhacks #recycleandplay @recycleandplay
